It’s pumpkin roasting time.
This recipe works for winter squash like butternut, cinderella, halloween, kabocha, blue hubbard, acorn, and sugar pumpkin. Winter squash visual guide.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use a large knife to cut the pumpkin in half.
Scoop out the seeds, which can be cleaned later.
Turn the pumpkin halfs cut side down and place in baking dish.
Add a half inch of water to the pan.
Bake until the flesh is soft, tell by poking through the skin of the pumpkin with a fork, usually between 45 mins and an hour, depending on the size of the pumpkin.
When the pumpkin is cooled, scoop out the flesh. Puree in food processor or mash with mashed potato masher. Use in your favorite pumpkin recipe:)
